YOUTH COUNCIL APPLICATIONS

Worcestershire FA is excited to announce that applications to join the Youth Council for 2016-17 are now open.

If you are aged 16-24 joining the Youth Council is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills whilst giving something back to The Beautiful Game.

The Application Process, Criteria and Requirements
Applicants must be aged between 16 and 24 and be located within Worcestershire.
You will need to:

- Be committed to attending and actively participating in Worcestershire FA Youth Council meetings and events

- Be committed to the aims of Worcestershire FA Youth Council and providing a voice for children and young people in Worcestershire

- Be willing to actively participate in the work of the Worcestershire FA Youth Council (both during and outside meetings)

- Register or already be registered with the Worcestershire FA Football Futures Programme

- Be willing to complete the FA CRC process

IMPORTANT: For the second year running, interviews will be held for positions on the Youth Council, taking place on Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th August 2016 at Worcestershire FA Offices, Droitwich, WR9 0QE.

Youth Council meetings typically take place on a monthly basis at Worcestershire FA Offices in Droitwich on Mondays between 6:30-8:30pm. Occasional support at further evening/weekend events is also encouraged.

The first Youth Council meeting will be in August.

The Youth Council have a new structure for season 2016-17 and each member will have a specific role. You will be asked to indicate what your preferred roles are during the application process. A brief description can be found below on each role:

Communications: You will take a lead on all marketing, promotion and social media for youth council activities.

Insight: You will develop strategies and inform the youth council on current trends and gaps in provision.

Referee: You will be part of a team dedicated to develop refereeing provision for young people.

Events: You will lead on the planning, organisations and delivery of youth council events.

Partnerships: You will form links with schools, colleges, universities, clubs, leagues and other partners to enhance provision for young people.

Why have a Worcestershire FA Youth Council?
Young people are the future of our game; our future players, coaches, referees and our future workforce. Therefore it’s vital we engage and retain them in football from an early age to secure the future of football. The Worcestershire FA Youth Council act as an advisory board and representative body for children and young people, aiming to inspire, empower and provide a voice for all children and young people to influence change, and develop a lasting legacy in football. The Youth Council also form an integral part of the County FA and are overseen by the Worcestershire FA Football Development Team and Worcestershire FA Board.
