Promotion

Referees who officiate in adult football are eligible to apply for promotion on a
yearly basis. The marking season runs from the start of March until the end of
February. If you want to progress up the refereeing ladder and challenge
yourself at a higher level of football then you should consider applying for
promotion.

Development

Worcestershire FA runs training and development events for match officials
throughout the year. Whilst many of these events are optional, referees are
encouraged to attend in order to enhance their performance and share their
experiences with colleagues.

 

Observing

Observers are the guardians of refereeing standards and are usually appointed to watch promotion seeking referees. If you would be interested in becoming an observer, navigate through the documents below to learn more about what is required.

Mentoring

Mentoring is a way to give something back to the next generation of referees. WFA aims to appoint a mentor to trainee referees in the early stages of their career in order to support them and offer valuable feedback.

Worcestershire FA's Centre of Refereeing Excellence (WFA CORE) aims to offer development and support to match officials who are identified as having the potential to progress to a higher level.
