REFEREE REGISTRATION NOW OPEN FOR 2021-22

We are pleased to confirm that Referee Registration is now open for existing referees ahead of season 2021-22.

Referees are required to register with their parent County FA annually in order to be appointed to matches in affiliated competitions.

We have a number of things planned to support and develop our referees during the next season, including:

  • Our pre-season Referee Development Programme
  • Ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD) for you all
  • Dedicated one-to-one support and regular communication
  • Specific U18 support throughout the season
  • A reformed Mentoring Programme
  • A new approach to WFA/HFA CORE for promotion seeking referees
  • Comprehensive ‘Referee Guides’ released to all match officials

 

Cost of Registration

The cost of registering as a referee for the 2021-22 season is £20.00 and this needs to be paid online at the time of registration.

 

How to register

Referees need to register online via the Whole Game System. Please CLICK HERE to log in. Please ensure that you update your contact details when registering if anything has changed.

 

Pre-requisites for referee registration

Please see below for the mandatory pre-requisites that referees must adhere to so they can register and officiate in the 2021-22 season:

1) All referees must have an in-date FA Safeguarding Children qualification

2) Referees in Youth Football must have an in-date FA DBS Check

 

Safeguarding children qualification

Referees who are aged 14/15 years old must have completed the following:
a) Complete free 1 hour Safeguarding For All (valid for two years) - click here to complete the course.

Referees who are aged 16+, but completed their previous Safeguarding qualification as a 14/15 year old can;
a) Complete free 1 hour Safeguarding For All (valid for two years) - click here to complete the course.
b) Complete the new Online Safeguarding Children Course (£30 and valid for two years with continual free recertification) - click here to complete the course.

All other Referees who are aged 16+ can;
a) Complete free 1 hour Safeguarding For All (valid for two years) - click here to complete the course.

I registered for 2020/21, when does this end?
Referee registrations and insurances are valid until the 30 June 2021 for all those who completed their 2020-21 registration online via the Whole Game System.

I want to attend a Safeguarding Workshop instead of attending an online course, how?

There are no face-to-face workshops now as The FA has taken the majority of courses online. If you need help accessing a computer please contact us for assistance.

I am having difficulty completing the Safeguarding qualification online, who can help?

Unfortunately, County FAs cannot assist with any queries relating to the Safeguarding courses. If there are any issues with regards to accessing or completing FA education courses, these must be directed to FA Education directly via the education@thefa.com email address, or via Tel. 0800 085 2012. Additionally there is online self-help guidance via the Safeguarding Help Centre.
