Stonewall Rainbow Laces

Stonewall Rainbow Laces

We’ll be showing our support for LGBT equality and inclusivity this November.

Worcestershire FA is proud to be supporting Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign.

In the week commencing 26th November, we will be promoting Stonewall’s superb initiative by spreading awareness of LGBT via social media.

Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia remain a problem at all levels of sport, with 43% of Britain’s LGBT individuals believing that public sporting events aren’t a welcoming space.

W
e need YOUR help to encourage more people to become active allies of the LGBT community. So, here's the plan. As people lace up around the county, we would like to encourage as many of you as possible to join the online movement and support LGBT. To do this:

  1. 1. Take a picture of your rainbow laces.
  2. 2. Use the hashtag: #RainbowLaces.
  3. 3. Tag both Stonewall (@StonewallUK) and Worcestershire FA (@WorcsFA) on Twitter.

Throughout the week, we will be posting a variety of rainbow laces-related content on our Twitter channel.

Our weekly Feature Fixture column will also focus on one of the county’s clubs supporting the campaign - as some of you will have seen, we’ve recently introduced a blog (worcsfablog.wordpress.com) to improve and increase our social media output. As a part of this, we have been producing a weekly feature column which details the specifics of a given match, thus helping to promote our clubs within the county.

This and plenty more content will be posted on Twitter in support of LGBT.

If you or someone you know is subject to any type of abusive or discriminatory behaviour, you can report this directly to Kick It Out or contact us via e-mail (discipline@worcestershirefa.com). We’re here to help!
