New: Assistant Referee Workshop
Worcestershire FA is running a series of Club Assistant Referee Workshops.
Following a successful event in November, the next workshop is scheduled for Thursday 31st January 2019, taking place at King Charles I High School, Kidderminster starting at 7:00pm.
Each session will be around 90 minutes long and is available to anyone who has an interest in running the line. Whether you are the chosen volunteer on a weekly basis who is handed the flag or have never even had a go, come along to this fun and interactive session. Don’t just take our word for it; here is what some of the participants said after November’s session:
“If I get any more parents on board I'll definitely enrol them on another course if you run one.”
“As a coach of young children it will be a real help for me when it comes to teaching offside.”
“I felt the mixture of different personalities of trainer was useful, as was the outside practical session. The indoor session was also really helpful.”
The session will be FREE (deposit refundable upon attendance) and all participants will receive a certificate of attendance, although there is no formal qualification.
Topics covered will include: what to do (and what not to do!) with the flag, how to signal, basic decision making, offside, positioning, and plenty of opportunities to apply the techniques in a practical setting out on the pitch.
To book a place, simply click here and enrol. This must be done online. The £10 fee will be refunded upon attendance.
