It's a journey that never ends. And one that is shaped by experiences and learning opportunities gathered anywhere, anytime.
To support your journey, The FA provides a range of learning opportunities for you to engage with. From events in your region to online resources to in situ mentoring, you can access the development support that will make the biggest impact to you and your role. Our Upcoming Events
This CPD session will enable you to maximise the impact of your sessions on your players. Participants will learn new skills and strategies to get the most out of players on the pitch!
This practical based workshop will get you to consider 3 aspects of your sessions.
- Know your players – To be able to motivate them appropriately
- Know the game – To be able to get the balance right between repetition and realism
- Know yourself – To be able to understand how your coaching behaviour affects your players
We look forward to seeing you developing on the pitch!

Match Day Experience
This CPD workshop will aim to answer three main questions on how you can improve your matchday experience:
- What does organisation look like to improve the match day experience for the players?
- How can I help the players and myself reflect on the match day experience to aid future learning?
- Who else can support on match days.
Coaches can expect to leave with tools to plan before and after their matchday as well as self-reflection tools for after the match day. The workshop will also explore some challenges that coaches face on a matchday as well as the opportunities match days offer. The workshop will help you link your training to match days, support the learning of your players and ensure you can plan, deliver, and reflect effectively

If you're an FA Level 1 or 2 learner, continuous professional development hours are optional and so there is no longer a requirement for licensing.
If you're a UEFA qualified coach, however, you are required to complete 15 hours of CPD every three years to maintain your licence, which The FA recommends is best achieved by completing 5 hours per season.
