REFEREE COURSES

We are delighted to confirm details of upcoming Referee Courses.

Refereeing is a fantastic way to stay involved in the game. Perhaps you still play or coach but could referee on another day? Maybe you have recently retired from playing and would like to stay involved? You can also keep fit and earn some extra cash by becoming a referee.

There is often a perception that refereeing ‘is not worth the hassle’. However, our FA tutors will give you all of the tools you need to deal with poor behaviour (which does happen sometimes, unfortunately). However, you will be amazed by the support networks available to referees and we would love to have you on board.

Learners must complete both The FA Laws of the Game modules and The FA Safeguarding Children qualification prior to booking a place on a course. The Laws of the Game modules and Safeguarding qualification are both accessed online, with further details available in our Trainee Referee Guide that can be downloaded here.

COURSE 1 – both dates must be attended (Initially open to learners from Worcestershire – any spaces within 2 weeks of the start date may be opened to external learners)

  • Monday 25 October – 9:30am-12:30pm
  • Wednesday 27 October – 9:00am-5:00pm
  • Venue: Worcestershire FA, County Sports Ground, Claines Lane, Worcester, WR3 7SS

Free Course Details (both dates must be attended)

  • Wednesday 27 October – 6:30pm-9:30pm

- A deposit is payable at the time of booking and will be refunded in full upon attendance at the sessions detailed. This is because we have been forced to cancel courses previously as we are required to have a minimum number in order to run the course.

- All bookings are otherwise non-refundable.

- We currently have a high number of matches without referees appointed on: Saturday mornings (Youth Football) and Sunday mornings (Adult Football). There are also some gaps in Saturday afternoon Adult Football, but this may require additional travelling. If you are not available on any of these days/times, you may wish to wait for a later course.

- You will need to purchase a referee kit to act in the role of referee (this is not included).
