WFA Refs

Referee Courses

We are delighted to confirm details of upcoming Referee Courses.

Refereeing is a fantastic way to stay involved in the game. Perhaps you still play or coach but could referee on another day? Maybe you have recently retired from playing and would like to stay involved? You can also keep fit and earn some extra cash by becoming a referee.

There is often a perception that refereeing ‘is not worth the hassle’. However, our FA tutors will give you all of the tools you need to deal with poor behaviour (which does happen sometimes, unfortunately). However, you will be amazed by the support networks available to referees and we would love to have you on board.

Learners must complete both The FA Laws of the Game modules and The FA Safeguarding Children qualification prior to booking a place on a course. The Laws of the Game modules and Safeguarding qualification are both accessed online, with further details available in our Trainee Referee Guide that can be downloaded here.

Free Referee Course

Following the popularity of our last free course, we are delighted to be able to offer a further, funded course.

Bookings for this course are available on a first come, first served basis subject to the details below and completion of the online learning.

This course is funded by an external partner (Heart of Worcestershire College) and, therefore, learners must meet the following criteria:

1. Learners must live in Worcestershire

2. Learners must be aged 19 or over

3. Learners must not be in full-time education

Course Details (both dates must be attended)

Dates: Wednesday 26 January (6:30pm to 9:30pm) and Sunday 30 January (10:00am to 6:00pm)

Venue: Baxter College, Kidderminster, DY11 5PQ

A deposit is payable at the time of booking and will be refunded, in full, upon attendance at the sessions above. This is because we have been forced to cancel courses previously for not reaching the required minimum number to run the course.

All bookings are otherwise non-refundable.
