Female Refereeing

Female-only mini soccer referee courses

Worcestershire FA is delighted to confirm plans to run female-only mini soccer referee courses this summer.

Currently just 4% of Worcestershire’s active referees are female and a county proposal has been created to support females with an additional route to maintain their participation in football.

With courses running during the school holidays they are designed to target, inspire and provide further knowledge for females aged 14+. Mini soccer is played by children up to the age of 10 years old and the role of the referee is that of an educator as well as being there to apply the Laws of the Game.

The female-only courses will cost just £30 and each learner will be provided with ongoing support through mentors and female-only development sessions to ensure extended guidance during the first steps into refereeing.

The only requirements prior to booking are: a) you are female, b) you are aged 14+ (adults welcome!) and c) you are interested in becoming a referee.

The first two courses have been confirmed as follows:

COURSE 1

Thursday 26th and Friday 27th July – 1pm-5pm on both days
Venue: County Sports Ground, Claines Lane, Worcester, WR3 7SS
