Worcester City lift Senior Cup

Worcester City won the Worcestershire FA Senior Challenge Cup Final held at Bromsgrove Sporting.

In a highly entertaining match City ran out winners by three goals to one. Worcester City took an early lead though Daniel Nti, who glanced in Sean Geddes' cross in the 6th minute.

Redditch seemed undeterred by the early setback and drew level in the 17th minute. A free-kick struck a hand in the defensive wall - Luke Shearer netted the resultant penalty.

The Worcester side regained their lead after a short period of pressure. Nti and Ryan Row both had shots blocked before Sean Geddes fired home a 20 yard shot just before the half-time interval.

After the furious pace shown in the first-half, it was to be expected that the second half was slightly less so. Substitute Tristian Dunkley was at hand to lob the Redditch 'keeper in the 87th minute to secure the win for City.

Thanks must go to our hosts Bromsgrove Sporting for their invaluable help in staging this years final.
