Insurance Details for the Worcestershire FA

The Worcestershire Football Association arranges a number of Insurance covers on an Annual basis, these include Group Public Liability Insurance policies for affiliated Clubs parented to the Worcestershire Football Association (excluding Senior Clubs) and Referees.

However, Football Personal Accident Insurance cover for Clubs' Registered Players is not provided by The Association and is the responsibility of the Club and/or individual player. (See advices below)

Football Personal Accident Insurance Cover

Football is a physical, contact sport that can lead to players suffering injuries. In some instances these injuries may be severe enough so as to prevent a player attending the workplace which can lead to real financial hardship for the player and/or their dependants. We occasionally hear that only after such an injury players find out that their Club has no Football Personal Accident Insurance cover in place.

The Worcestershire Football Association strongly recommends that all Clubs should effect adequate Football Personal Accident cover for its registered players with a recognised provider.

Before completing a Registration Form it is best practice for the Club to inform the player whether or not the Club provides Football Personal Accident Insurance cover for its players, and if it does to what level the policy provides. With this information players can then consider where there is no cover they can take out their own policy or if the cover provided by the Club is not enough they can take out a further policy to the extent that they would require. The Club should obtain the players signature as an endorsement to show that the Club has made them aware of the Club’s Football Personal Accident Insurance policy and cover.
