Charter Standard Club Accreditation

Club details and stages avaliable for application.

The FA’s Charter Standard Club Scheme is designed to help clubs at all levels improve the service they provide and assist them in raising standards. The scheme acts as a quality assurance benchmark and as a result rewards those clubs that carry out good practice.

The ethos of the scheme provides recognition that clubs are well run and sustainable, with child protection and safety paramount. It also recognises a clubs commitment to coach and player development, and the raising of standards of behaviour in the game. This ethos is adhered to by clubs committing to the accreditation and is an ethos that should be reiterated and supported by all members, including parents and spectators.

Charter Standard Clubs (Youth & Adult):

This Award is available for both Youth and Adult Clubs. Youth Clubs need to demonstrate management, child protection, qualified coaches, codes of conduct and insurance, while Adult Clubs require management, insurance, first aid qualifications and codes of conduct.

Charter Standard Development Clubs:

These clubs must have met the criteria for Charter Standard Clubs and must also have at least five teams and a Football Development Plan.

Charter Standard Community Clubs:

The pinnacle of the Charter Standard Programme. In addition to meeting all of the Charter Standard Club criteria, clubs need a minimum of 10 teams including mini soccer, youth and adult, and a three to five year Football Development Plan.
